TREKKING GRADES

Grade 1
for trekkers with no previous experience, we offer a diverse range of easy treks. By easy, we mean that the trek involves no difficult climbing or ascents to high altitudes, and is suitable for anyone.

Grade 2
Grade 2 treks are more challenging than Grade 1, and are suitable for any walker looking for something a little more energetic. They involve more walking up and down and climb to higher altitudes.

Grade 3
Grade 3 treks should only be undertaken by those with some previous mountain walking experience. They ascend to altitudes of up to 5500m and involve some steep climbing, although it is never necessary to use ropes.

Grade 4
Grade 4 treks are only for real adventurers. They involve steep ascents to high altitudes with the possibility of some rope climbing. You’ll need stamina to complete one of these treks.

TEAHOUSE TREKS

The most popular way to trek in Nepal for both Nepalese and Westerners is to travel from teahouse to teahouse. Hotel accommodation is most readily available in the Khumbu (Everest) region, the Langtang area and the entire Annapurna region

Bring along your own sheet or sleeping bag to provide some protection against these bugs. Bedding is not usually available at hotels on the Everest trek or around Annapurna, so on these treks you should carry your own sleeping bag.

Although many hotels in the hills are reasonably comfortable, the accommodation in some places may be very basic. You will also have a good opportunity to see how the people in the hills of Nepal live, work and eat and during the trek you will probably develop, at least a rudimentary knowledge of the Nepali language.

TREKKING EQUIPMENTS

The following equipment lists are suggested. Some of the Trekking equipments can be hired or bought in the many adventure shops in Katmandu.
