FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE ADVICE
You are strongly advised to check advice concerning travel
to India prior to booking your holiday. We can take no responsibility
for any cancellation by you on account of this matter
TIME DIFFERENCE
Indian standard time is 5 and ½ hrs ahead of GMT.
Nepal is about 6 hrs ahead of GMT.
EXCHANGE CONTROL
Most banks and large hotels have money-changing licenses where
foreign currency and Travelers Cheques can be cashed.
DRESS & MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Cotton-based materials are better in warm climates. Even during
warmer times, evenings can become cool, so light sweaters
and long-sleeved shirts are required. Cold weather items must
be taken during winter in higher hill stations and the Himalayas.
Remember swimsuits and beach clothing. Sun glasses and high
factor UV protection is needed in all weathers
STANDARDS
Many of our destinations are off the main tourist trails,
and standards of accommodation and service cannot be compared
directly with developed nations. Roads can be bumpy, transport
and driving standards are certainly different with power supplies
erratic. However we aim to obtain the best available services
in each area, but sometimes circumstances are beyond our direct
control.
